Your top tip for growing to tailbone or longer?
It's more about what you SHOULDN'T do. No dyes, no bleach, avoid heat
(hair dryer) and don't flat iron your hair often. Keeping it up (buns,
braids) will help a lot, since you won't get as many tangles, which can
damage your hair. Sleep with braids too, you'll avoid knots and tangles. Wide tooth combs are nice for detangling before brushing your hair (you can use it in the shower, or when your hair's still wet. Keep in mind that your hair is more fragile when wet).
Make sure your hair is hydrated. I would recommend trimming the ends at
least once every 6 months or so. Don't listen to people who tell you
that you should cut it every 2-3 months. If you take care of it you can
stretch that period of time A LOT. It's been 7 months since I last cut
my hair and it looks perfectly fine!
Extra tips: Some people use satin or silk pillows as they are more "hair
friendly." Others use sleeping caps. Also, try to figure out what
works for YOUR hair. Maybe sulfates are fine for you, while for others
they're awful. Listen to your hair, since what may be good for the
majority could not work for you. The methods, advice and routines you
can find on forums are really nice, but don't get
frustrated if they are not your thing. After all, it's your own and
personal hair journey!
